The southern part of site falls within the Conservation Area including the main school building that fronts High Street North and the science block which fronts onto Dog Kennel Path. It occupies a prominent position on High Street North (A5).
The Ashton Schools Foundation (ASF) has undertaken initial discussions with Planning Officers at Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) and Bidwells has produced a Planning Statement document which is available within the AMS Data Room.
The Planning Statement provides a detailed summary of the national, regional and local planning policies which will be relevant to the future redevelopment of the site. In addition, the document establishes planning principles for the re-use of the site taking into account these policies.
Potential bidders will be permitted to hold meetings with CBC following initial engagement with Bidwells in accordance with the Council's pre-application advice process.
